I fought the dandelion and the dandelion won

I was trying to dig up a dandelion growing against the retainer wall and the root kept breaking off. I could see the white broken root in the ground. I kept digging with a little spade that was bending and with my fingers. I got as deep as my whole hand in the cold wet dirt but still hadn't reached the end of the root. So I gave up and filled in the hole. That means after a while the same dandelion will be back. Next time: Roundup.
