Cold snap

We're in for some cold, windy weather where I live. I can't say I'm at all excited about that.

One good thing, it's mostly sunny.

Come on, Spring.

that is so cute.

around here we would call those temperatures disastrously, unpleasantly, economy cripplingly warm.

we use that term "cold snap" to describe a few days where the temps are in the teens below zero.

if it's seven degrees out, you go xc skiing instead of downhill.

oh, wait. we can't do much downhill skiing because it's BEEN TOO WARM and there's not much snow.

spring does not properly come until after easter, because you can't have sunrise services on top of ski mountains unless you can ski down.

It's all what you're acclimated to. :-) I'm used to cool, rainy weather, but not sustained temperatures below freezing. When I first moved up here from California, I thought even our normal winter temps were brutal.
