Heat Wave

We are having a heat wave. In Western Washington, we're accustomed to cool, mild weather, so when the temperature is in the 80s we wilt--at least I do.

I watered my deck plants, which will be battered by the hot sun this afternoon. They've already suffered a bit. This is at least our third hot day. If the plants go too long without water, I come home from work and they're sprawled out of their pots, collapsed, wilting, looking pathetic.

Today is Saturday, so I had the time in the morning to go out and give water as a preventive measure against heat collapse. I intend to spend as much of the rest of the day indoors as possible, avoiding the sun.

That picture comes from a website about light illusions that is kind of interesting.
